What is the vidIQ Shorts Scorecard?

The Shorts Scorecard unlocks quick insights into YouTube Shorts performance. Designed with creators in mind, it delivers timely data to adjust your strategy and keep your content on-trend quickly. Think of it as your personal analytics assistant, but faster and more focused on the unique world of Shorts.

How to Get Started with the Scorecard?

This tool is available within the vidIQ extension (click here to download it). After downloading the vidIQ extension, you will find the Scorecard on the right-hand side when watching a Shorts video:

Key Features at a Glance

  • Views: The total views a Short has garnered. This number gives you a quick look at how well the content performs.

  • Outlier Score: Right next to the views, the outlier score highlights how your Short’s performance compares to typical view counts, helping you identify standout content.

  • Views Graph: Analyze your Short’s performance over time. Filter the graph to view data from the past 24 hours, first 7 days, first 28 days, or all time.

  • Upload Date: Quickly check when the video was uploaded to assess its performance timeline.

  • Engagement Rate: Understand how the audience interacts with the Short by clearly displaying the engagement rate as a percentage.

  • Channel Information: Here, you can find relevant details about the channel you are analyzing. This information will only be displayed once you click the channel name inside the Scorecard.

Inside this Channel section, you can find the following information:

  1. The Channel Name and the joining date: The channel's complete and current public name and the date the channel joined YouTube.

  2. Total views: The total views of the channel in the last 28 days and all time since it was posted.

  3. Subscribers: The number of subscribers the channel has accrued in the last 28 days and all time.

  4. Monthly Uploads: The number of public uploads for the channel in the last 30 days (Shorts and long-form videos).

  5. Total uploads: The total amount of public (not private or unlisted) videos the channel has posted in their channel.

FAQ of the Shorts scorecard

1. How can I hide the Shorts Scorecard?

You can collapse the Shorst scorecard by pressing the arrow on the top right (left side of the Shorts video player).

2. Why is there no data for this video?

There are two primary reasons why a Shorts might not have any data in the Scorecard. The video is relatively new, so you can check back later for updated information. At other times, it may have very few views—videos with about 50 views or less may not generate any data.
