You have changed your YouTube channel name or profile picture but it does not reflect on vidIQ? The reason is that when you update the name or profile picture on your YouTube channel, it won't automatically update on your Google or vidIQ account. This discrepancy often occurs because Google uses account-related identifiers or cached data during synchronization, which may delay or prevent your updated details from reflecting accurately.

Do not worry! You can update this for vidIQ in just a few steps by re-authenticating your YouTube channel with vidIQ: These changes are purely visual discrepancies and do not impact the functionality or performance of your channels.

  1. Navigate to the bottom-left corner and click on your icon.

  2. Click on "Channel Settings."

  3. Click the "Re-authenticate" button.

When you click "Re-authenticate" and the list of Google accounts appears, please select the account with the previous profile picture and name. This is necessary because only your YouTube account details have been updated, not your Google account details. After re-authentication, your updated profile picture and name will be reflected on your vidIQ account.

How to update my Google account details?

Having a different profile picture and name on your Google account in no way affects your work with vidIQ but if you wish to update also your Google account, please follow these steps: Change my Google account info. Additionally, delays in updating Google account information may occur due to system synchronization or cached data, which usually resolve over time without any action.
