Need help turning your video idea into a script that actually keeps viewers watching? The vidIQ Script Writer is built specifically for YouTube creators — using real data, viewer psychology, and best practices from top-performing content to help you generate high-converting scripts in just minutes.

Accessing Script Writer

  1. Log in to your vidIQ account.

  2. In the left-hand menu, click Create, then select Script Writer.

💡 Already logged in? You can jump straight to the feature using this link: Script Writer

You’ll get 3 scripts per month on the Free or Basic plan — or go unlimited with Boost and above!

Creating Your Script

1. Start with an idea

Type a topic or working title related to your video.
Example: How Marvel Rivals characters rank in Season 2 or Why I almost quit YouTube (and what changed everything).

2. Choose your script length

Select how long you want your video to be. Options include 5, 10, 15, 20, or 30 minutes.

💡 Creating a Short? The Script Writer is best suited for long-form videos — but you can write a 1-minute version manually or trim down a 5-minute script to fit.

3. Set your script tone

You can either select from our built-in tones or write your own.

Preset options include:

  • Casual

  • Informative

  • Persuasive

  • Storytelling

Or you can enter a custom tone like “high-energy YouTube Shorts” or “cinematic commentary.”

4. Answer the follow-up question

Script Writer may ask a quick follow-up based on your topic, like “What angle should we focus on?” Specific answers will help deliver more relevant scripts.

5. Choose your concept

You’ll be shown 3 different directions for your script. Pick the one that fits your idea or audience best.

💡 Tip: If none of the concepts feel right, you can go back and change your prompt or tone.

6. Let the AI generate your script

The Script Writer will:

  • Analyze stylistically similar videos on YouTube

  • Emulate structure, flow, and pacing

  • Generate a full script with intro, sections, and a call to action

  • Fact-check and polish the draft to sound natural and human-written

⏱️ This step usually takes about 2–3 minutes.

7. Refine your script

Once the draft is ready, you can:

  • Edit or rewrite any section

  • Regenerate the intro or full script

  • Apply tone adjustments (e.g., “Make this more emotional” or “Sound more like MrBeast”)

📸 Refine tone or adjust pacing with suggestions built into the editor

🔄 Copy, Download, or Revert

Once you're happy with the script, you can:

  • Copy it to your clipboard

  • Download it as a .txt file

  • Revert to a previous version if you make changes you want to undo

Why It Works

Unlike generic AI tools, the vidIQ Script Writer is built with YouTube in mind:

  • Uses YouTube-specific retention techniques, like callback structure, pacing shifts, and mini-cliffhangers

  • Incorporates real-time data and competitive research

  • Delivers in minutes what might take a professional scriptwriter days

Whether you're stuck on the hook or just short on time, this feature helps you produce scripts that are built to perform.
