1 - Make sure that you logged into your extension by clicking on the blue "IQ" icon on your Chrome browser.

2 - If you are using Chrome in incognito mode, then you need to allow vidIQ to run in incognito mode. You can simply:

  • Copy and paste this into your browser: chrome://extensions
  • Find the vidIQ extension in the list and click on the checkbox for the "Allow in incognito" option as it shown below:

3 - One of the most common causes for not seeing vidIQ, is a possible conflict with another Chrome extension. We are trying to make sure that our extension complies with the other extensions once we know which extensions are causing the conflict. Although we have a list of extensions that are causing a conflict, there might be more that we are not aware of them. You can check the known extensions here. If you don't have the known extensions are installed, then the troubleshooting would be as follows:

  • Copy and paste this into your Chrome browser: chrome://extensions
  • Disable all other extensions other than vidIQ, go back to the video page and refresh the YouTube page.
  • If vidIQ shows up, then enable other extensions one at a time and go back to the video page and refresh it until vidIQ disappears again. Note that each time you need to have only two extensions are enabled: vidIQ and the one that you are trying. Please don't stop once you find one extension since there might be other extensions that are causing the same issue.
  • Once you find the extension(s), please contact us via the live chat window on this page or email us to support@vidiq.com with the name or the link to those extensions.

4 - If you see the message "This extension may have been corrupted", it means the extension's files may have been changed. To protect you, Chrome will disable the extension. To repair the extension, you need to:

  • Copy and paste this into your browser: chrome://extensions
  • Find the vidIQ extension in the list and click Repair.

5 - There is a possibility that something went wrong during the installation process and you didn't get any error messages. In this case, you can refer to a good old method, which is deleting and reinstalling the vidIQ extension. Here how you can do it:

  • Copy and paste this into your Chrome browser: chrome://extensions
  • Find the vidIQ extension in the list and click on the "trash" icon, as it shown below:

6 - If you have done all of the above and still don't see vidIQ on YouTube, please contact us via the live chat window on this page or email us to support@vidiq.com.
