Feature Overview

Have you ever wondered how to make content that gets lots of likes and sends your videos rocketing on YouTube? Well, you're in luck because we have a special tool that you'll absolutely adore โ€“ say hello to the "Most Viewed" tool!

What is the "Most Viewed" Tool?

Imagine it as a magical crystal ball that shows you what's currently hot and popular in the YouTube world. The "Most Viewed" tool is like your digital mentor, guiding you through the world of video content to reveal what's making waves in a specific category on YouTube. But it's not just about showing you the top trending videos; it's about helping you understand why they're at the top.

How "Most Viewed" Differs from YouTube's Trending Tab

Think of YouTube's trending tab as the grocery store's "popular products" aisle. It gives you a general idea of what's in demand. But what if you have a specific dietary preference, like being vegan or needing gluten-free options? That's where our "Most Viewed" tool really shines! Unlike the trending tab, you can customize your search to find exactly what appeals to your audience. This feature is available exclusively on the vidIQ extension, enhancing your YouTube browsing experience with tailored insights.

Insightful Metrics ๐Ÿ“Š

Get ready for a feast of information! This tool offers a plethora of essential analytics that will allow you to deep dive into your research. The three main components are Keywords, Sorting options, and Filters.

Search by a Keyword

If you do not provide a keyword, the Most Viewed tool will provide you with the most popular videos on YouTube based on your filter criteria. However, if you are looking to reach and analyze a specific niche or topic, searching by keywords will be incredibly useful and provide you with much more tailored search results.

Sorting Options

When it comes to sorting options (available only on Pro plans and above), you have the ability to sort by:

  • Views: Number of times the video has been watched.

  • Views per Hour: velocity of video.

  • Engagement Rate: The level of viewer interaction with the video.

  • Time Range: Refine popular videos by the past 48 hours, 7 days, 30 days, or 6 months.

Filters, Filters, Filters! ๐ŸŽ›๏ธ

The most powerful functionality is filtering! Why compare your growing channel to a giant with half a million subscribers? If you are a 10k channel, comparing views from a 5M channel may be counterproductive. Our tool lets you filter by channel size to compete on a more level playing field. That way, you can aim to outshine your direct competitors' channels! You can filter by (available only on Boost and above):

  • Channel Subscribers

  • Content-Type

  • Views

  • Views per Hour

  • Category

  • Country

  • vidIQ Score

Video Statistics

Each video will display some statistics:

  • Views: Number of times the video has been watched.

  • Engagement Rate: The level of viewer interaction with the video.

  • vidIQ Score: A rating given by vidIQ based on the video's overall performance.

If you find a video you're particularly interested in, you can learn more about it by hovering over the video and clicking on the three dots. Or simply click on the video itself to watch it and see more details.

How to Use "Most Viewed"

To navigate to the "Most Viewed" feature, you have two straightforward options:

  1. YouTube Dashboard: On your YouTube dashboard, on the left side menu, you will find the "Most Viewed" option amongst the list of tools provided by vidIQ.

  2. vidIQ Banner: Alternatively, you can locate this feature through the vidIQ banner. Positioned at the top right of your screen, simply click on the three horizontal lines to reveal a drop-down menu. From there, select โ€œMost Viewedโ€ to proceed.

Once you open the "Most Viewed" section, you'll see a list of popular videos. If you want to narrow down the videos to those that interest you, use the available filters. The type of filters and sorting you can use depends on your vidIQ plan.

Plan-Specific Features

The Most Viewed tool is available on all plans; however, there are some limitations:

  • Free/Basic: View pre-populated videos without sorting or filtering. The country filter defaults to your current location.

  • Pro: Access to all filters and keyword input.

  • Boost and Coaching Plans: Full functionality and all filters.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Can I filter by a specific country?

A: Absolutely! If you are on a Boost plan, you can change the country and even set it to all popular videos worldwide.

Q: Why am I seeing videos mostly from a particular country, even though my filter is set to worldwide?

A: Sometimes some countries produce super popular content or have a special event that the rest of the world is tuning in for, so at times, the most popular videos might come from the same region. However, new popular videos will be emerging and taking place, so this dynamic will most likely change in the next day or two. That is the most powerful aspect of the Most Viewed tool.

Q: I subscribed to Pro, but I can't use filters, why?

A: The filter option is currently only available on the Boost plan.
